Let’s get one thing straight. Like Seinfeld, maybe this is a blog about nothing. Or maybe …it’s about everything. I hope this site isn’t pigeon-holed, or “labeled”, in any way. But of course it will be, and I suppose if it must be labeled something, that something should be “Spirit Wielder”. What is a spirit wielder you ask? Well, it probably conjures thoughts of old mystics and wizardry, and I’m sure resonates with a lot of people in the video gaming industry, and I love and respect all of that. But I’m putting my own spin on it. The theme is that the US and the world for that matter has strayed far off course, and risked losing its soul, it’s spirituality. People everywhere are in a rut, and they can’t seem to get out of it. Same goes for me. I want to reinvigorate my spirit. And that of, well, everyone. And inspire everyone to “wield their spirit”. Be fearless. Do what makes you happy and healthy. Maybe happiness is a luxury. We all have to endure hardships and make sacrifices from time to time. I have my own stories of this that I’ll share over time. But to starve yourself of happiness forever is suicide. So, wield your spirit. Vigorously. Doing so, you will inherently spend your days courageously working hard and playing hard in your own way, putting your stamp on everything you do.
This urge was spawned out of the gridlock of corporate bureaucracies, political red-tape and vast personal suffering that has infested the whole world after the Great Recession. It doesn’t seem like the world’s mood is changing very much. So my hunch is that the world’s collective invisible hand will drive some real changes to the markets, corporations, systems, frameworks, and ways things have been done for a long time. People in power have lead with too much “let them eat cake” hubris for too long. Change, uncomfortable though it may be, will be for the better. But it will undoubtedly catch some people off guard and everyone will feel the uncomfortable effects of change to varying degrees.
